Parking & Accessibility

Parking & Accessibility

We want every guest to be able to arrive comfortably and without uncertainty. The memorial will be held at the Oroville Veterans Memorial Building, 2374 Montgomery Street, Oroville, CA 95965, in historic downtown Oroville. This is the Veterans Memorial Building on Montgomery Street; using the full street address in your navigation app is the safest way to avoid being directed to another veterans’ facility in Oroville.

Parking

Parking is available immediately adjacent to the Veterans Memorial Building. Butte County constructed the Oroville Park & Ride beside the hall specifically to provide additional parking for the building and community events. County records describe two paved parking areas with 33 spaces in total, including four accessible parking spaces, together with lighting, sidewalks, bicycle parking and related improvements. The completed facility is associated with 2450 Montgomery Street, directly adjoining the Veterans Memorial Building and Veterans Memorial Park.

Additional on-street parking is available in the surrounding downtown area. Guests who are comfortable walking a short distance may wish to leave the spaces closest to the building available for older guests and those with limited mobility.

Accessible Parking & Entrance

The adjacent parking area includes four designated accessible parking spaces.

The main Montgomery Street entrance has both stairs and a ramped approach with handrails leading to the entrance level. Guests using wheelchairs, walkers, canes, or anyone who would simply prefer to avoid stairs may use the ramp.

If you are bringing a guest with limited mobility, it may be easiest to drop them at the entrance first and then park. Please feel entirely free to do so.

Assistance on Arrival

If you or someone accompanying you would benefit from a little extra assistance getting from the car into the building, please let us know. We will be very happy to arrange for someone to meet you outside.

Because the Veterans Memorial Building is an older historic building, guests with a particular accessibility requirement are also welcome to contact us in advance so that we can make the arrival as easy and comfortable as possible.
